(2012)

The summer home of Prof. Zygmunt J. B. Plater of Boston College Law School and his wife, Ann L. Plater, is not much to look at from Bradford Street, but reveals itself from Vorse Lane (as in this photo). In the early 1950s, John DeWitt took care of the critical business of picture crating at this address. The Platers bought the property in 2011. Professor Plater served as petitioner and lead counsel in the endangered species litigation over the Tennessee Valley Authority’s Tellico Dam; headed the Alaska Oil Spill Commission’s legal task force for two years after the wreck of the Exxon Valdez; was a consultant to the plaintiffs in the Woburn, Mass., water contamination litigation chronicled in the book and movie, A Civil Action.
