Capt. Jesse Cook (1783-1871) | Hamilton.
Just as wheat is not harvested until its maturity, Captain Cook was not taken by his maker until he had reached the age of 88 years — a very long lifetime even in the modern era and quite exceptional for someone born in the 18th century, especially a seafarer. His wife, Thankful H. Cook (1785-1863), lived nearly until her 78th birthday. [Lot No. 23.]
