(2016)
Absolutely astonishing continuity in the ever-more ephemeral town: as of 2017, Norbert Macara (b 1919), a retired fisherman, and Juanita (Michaud) Macara (b 1923), a retired civic activist and former Navy nurse, were still living here at 21 Brewster Street — as they have since they were married in 1946! Norbert was the owner and skipper of the wooden dragger Liberty. Juanita headed the Provincetown Parent-Teacher Association and the Nautilus Club, was active in the leadership of the Camp Fire Girls and the Community Needs Council, and — for good measure — was the den mother of Cub Scout Den No. 6.

No mention of Juanita as Provincetown’s school nurse?!
