After Justin F. Avellar (b ±1902) and Mary J. Avellar (b ±1911) sold the ancestral family home at 437-439 Commercial Street, now known as Poor Richard’s Landing, they moved here. Their daughter Mary-Jo Avellar was living here in 1964 when she was graduated from Provincetown High School and accepted at UMass. The property had been owned by the Barnes family. Thomas J. Pucci converted it into a three-unit condo in 2005.
