Governor Bradford School.
This elegant, wood-framed, Queen Anne-style building was home to the Governor Bradford School beginning in 1892. After a systemwide reorganization in 1931, it was where grades five and six were conducted (first to fourth grades were in the Western and Center Schools; seventh grade onward were in the High School). In 1935, the Governor Bradford School burned down in the middle of the night, thankfully without any loss of life.
