Harley F. Williamson of Springfield, Mass., purchased 100 acres of land at the Provincetown-Truro line in 1915 to develop what he called East Harbor Beach. Bayview Avenue (then spelled Bay View) was one of about a dozen mapped streets in the development. Several were never more than “paper streets,” existing only on maps.
