Village at Red Inn Condominium.
An enormous building by Provincetown standards — about 180 feet long (almost as long as a New York City block) — the Village at Red Inn has five four-story towers, with battered walls, that are meant to evoke lighthouses. It might be an overbearing development, but it’s set back far enough, with a white gravel parking lot as a buffer, that it’s not too disruptive of the classical West End scale when seen from Commercial Street. The staggered massing also helps break down its visual bulk. To judge from photos, the rooms at the top of the towers are (barely) large enough for a queen-sized bed, but how delicious it must be up there, in a snug cabin with windows facing every direction. The 15-unit condominium was created in 1985 by Patrick Ahearn of Boston, Christopher B. Fleming of Carlisle, and Richard J. Kaitz of Brookline. Pressley Associates of Boston were the landscape architects.
