Murchison House (main dwelling).
“The basic motif is that of a Japanese temple,” the monograph on the house, Residence of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Murchison, Provincetown, Massachusetts, says, “the roof above a roof, the long horizontal lines of top and bottom, the massing of beautiful woods, the overhanging reaches.” The brise-soleil is of cypress. “The vertical fins in the outside sun-screens are there in as a continuance of the linear ornamentation that extends throughout the inside and outside of the house.”
