William W. Sears (1884-1954), a longtime employee in the Provincetown Post Office, wed Elsie Louise Haggett (1886-1954) in Everett on 16 September 1921. After more than three decades of marriage, he died in this house on Monday, 18 January 1954. He’d not been in his grave more than a day before she — stricken — was taken to the Barnstable County Hospital in Pocasset, where she died that Saturday. Elsie joined William in the grave at Town Cemetery the following Wednesday. The property was purchased in 1997 by Jay C. Anderson of Los Angeles. Two years later, he and Robert A. O’Malley of Provincetown turned it into a four-unit condo. In 2001, they also converted 21 Center Street next door.
