Cemetery 24 Williams John

(2017)

John A. Williams (1845-1883).

Laura E. (Snow) Williams did not have the chance to mourn the drowning of her husband, John, the mate aboard the schooner Westmoreland, which sank during a 2,000-mile voyage from Portland to Martinique in November 1883. Nor did six-year-old Ina E. Williams have the chance to mourn the drowning of her father. For the whole Williams family was together on that awful journey, and all three perished, as did everyone else on board.
