Cemetery 25 Tuck Francis

(2009)

Capt. Francis B. Tuck (1826-1862) | Hamilton.

Captain Tuck was in his mid-30s when he died, two days after Christmas in 1862, but he had already served on a committee of Masons in Provincetown who were looking into building a lodge, had farmed out West, had married (12 days before his older brother, Joseph W. Tuck, wed) and had commanded the whaler Frank Bunchinia, where he also followed by Joseph. Interlocked chain links around the letters F, L, and T indicate that Tuck belonged to the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, whose motto is “Friendship, Love, and Truth.” [Lot No. 25.]
