2020 Commercial 065B

(2016)

If you were so inclined, you might be able to win a bet saying that you knew of a freestanding one-car garage just off Commercial Street in the West End. The building and the neighboring boat house belonged to the main house on 65 Commercial Street until 1957, when Ida Ruth (Cox) Hurlbert and her daughter, Ruth Munro Hurlbert, broke this parcel off and reserved it to themselves when selling the main house to the Doheny family. Ruth sold the property in 2000 to Judy K. Mencher and Martha A. Epp. Mencher, a Boston lawyer and financier who already owned 65A Commercial, took sole possession of this property in 2003. In 2007, she married Nicole Polaski.
