2020 Commercial 065B-2_DxOPsp

(2016)

I haven’t counted, but there are very few boat houses — with double doors right on the beach — left in Provincetown. This is one of them, and it shows up as such in street atlases from the early 20th century. The building and the neighboring garage belonged to the main house on 65 Commercial Street until 1957, when Ida Ruth (Cox) Hurlbert and her daughter, Ruth Munro Hurlbert, broke this parcel off and reserved it to themselves when selling the main house to the Doheny family. Ruth sold the property in 2000 to Judy K. Mencher and Martha A. Epp. Mencher, a Boston lawyer and financier who already owned 65A Commercial, took sole possession of this property in 2003. In 2007, she married Nicole Polaski.

For a view of the main house, please see 65 Commercial Street.

For a view of the garage, please see 65B Commercial Street.
