Neith Boyce (1872-1951).

It was on 15 July 1915, in the home of Boyce, a novelist and playwright, and her husband, Hutchins Hapgood (1869-1944), that the first informal performance was given by what soon would be the legendary Provincetown Players troupe. Her play Constancy opened the bill that night. Boyce’s place in the Hapgood family tree is illustrated on this unusual memorial monument — Ancestry.com engraved in granite.
